United in Purpose…..

2015_6_boardmeeting (7)

WSC Coalition members gathered in a peaceful meeting room in late June to be inspired and uplifted in hearing about the activities of the WomenSpirit Coalition.  In one of two mandatory meetings held per year, WSC membership and Board members held elections and approved by laws and updated Board policies.

A highlight of the meeting was when WSC Executive Director, Dee Koester was gifted a purple blanket and plaque by Nikki Finkbonner, EBC President. The plaque was from Lummi Victims of Crime Program, in celebration of LVOC’s 25 years of service in the Lummi community. Dee and the Coalition were noted as “Our Champion” in the efforts to eliminate domestic violence and sexual assault in tribal communities.  After the presentation, Cheryl Neskahi Coan, EBC Vice President honored Dee and the Coalition by singing an honor song.
